April Roundup: Reflections, Realignments & ROAS—Oh My!
A monthly mash-up of marketing insights, creative sparks, and the life behind the launch.
Theme of the Month: Intermission 💭
April felt like it came in with a whisper and left with a whoosh. Between jury duty, seasonal sniffles, and a few unexpected pivots, this month pushed me to slow down and reflect—on my brand, my business, and what I want to bring into the next season.
Also, Zoey (my dog, for those of you new here 🐶) has declared herself the official food inspector for Sunday Suppers… which, yes, is now a thing. More on that below.
But first, let’s get you caught up.

Now, let’s rewind and look at the month that got us here...
In Case You Missed It: April Posts
This month was all about alignment—your brand, your strategy, your metrics.

What’s Coming Next: Brand Blueprint Reset
The Brand Blueprint is getting a makeover. Why? Because after running the program in its current form, I realized the structure wasn’t working the way I hoped.
It was somehow too long and too short at the same time. (How is that even possible? And yet, here we are. 🤔)
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Impact-driven brands—like coaches, creatives, and consultants—want more personalized guidance, not just content.
Startup founders want to move fast and get a strong foundation in place ASAP.
So I’m pulling it apart and rebuilding with both tracks in mind: one sprint, one mentorship-style. Stay tuned—because if you’re looking to build a standout brand that’s as strategic as it is soulful, I’ve got you.
Brain Food: What I’ve Been Diving Into This Month
This month has been all about Marketing Jam—the weekly newsletter I’m building from the ground up (aka—what you’re reading right now). It’s not glamorous work (yet), but IYKYK: showing up consistently takes energy.
I’ve also been on a Substack binge, reading everything from marketers and founders to poets and technologists. It’s an inspiring rabbit hole if you let yourself go deep.
Here are a few new-to-me writers I’ve been vibing with:
by Joseph Gordon-Levitt – Yes, that Joseph Gordon-Levitt. His Substack is surprisingly visual (a rarity on the platform), creative, and refreshingly personal. Also: can we start calling it a ’stack? No? Too much?
by Ayushi Thakkar – Thoughtful, lowercase-loving essays that make me think about thinking. It’s the kind of writing that lingers.
by Kira Klaas – If you like branding like I do (read: possibly too much), this one’s a gem. She’s proof there’s more than one way to skin the brand cat (ew, but also… accurate).
by MoonLion's AI Media – Smart, weird, expansive writing about AI. If you want your brain stretched in a good way, this is the one.
And yep, I’ve been obsessing over cookbooks again. Which brings me to...
Off the Clock: Sunday Suppers & the Power of a Pause
Jury duty wasn’t on my bingo card for April—but it forced a pause I didn’t know I needed. Between courthouse downtime and a lingering allergy fog, I finally did something I’ve been putting off: I took myself through The Brand Blueprint. Yep, my own course. And wow—seeing my brand through fresh eyes sparked serious clarity (if I do say so myself)!
I even (finally!) built my own data tracking spreadsheet to show me what marketing activities are really delivering. Classic “do as I say, not as I do” moment. 🤦🏻♀️
To balance all that business reflection, I kicked off a new personal tradition: Sunday Suppers. Think seasonal, veggie-forward meals with good friends and cozy vibes. The inaugural menu?
Roasted beets with burrata, crispy prosciutto + blood orange dressing
White bean + asparagus salad with my first-ever crop of homegrown lettuce
Mushroom bolognese
How’d it go? For me, it was a success—with a side of overdoing it. Let’s just say my portion sizes leaned more “Cheesecake Factory” than “cozy dinner party.”
Lesson learned: trying something new doesn’t have to mean doing the most.
But the best part? No one had their phones out. I forgot to take a photo because we were too busy being present at the table. And honestly, that felt like the win I was really after.
For now, I’m leaning into slower Sundays and sharper strategy.
Wrap-Up: Reflection IS a Strategy
April wasn’t what I planned—but maybe that’s the point.
I didn’t ship everything I wanted. I didn’t close all the loops. But I did listen. And I’m planning to come out the other side with more clarity about where I’m headed and how I want to show up—for you, for myself, and for the future of The Launch Box.
💬 What about you? Did anything shift for you this month? I’d love to hear what resonated, what’s on your mind, or what spring energy you’re channeling into your business.
