As we enter the year of the dragon, I have been inspired to revamp my blog — and to hopefully connect with more people by sharing my voice here on Substack. Whether these two events are linked or not is for you to decide (though I’m pretty confident it was destined). My blog however was admittedly in need of a makeover either way. I am deeply aware of this because I haven’t been motivated to write or post anything new in ages. In fact, it's probably a stretch for me to even call what I was doing before a blog since I can count the number of articles that don't include a listicle on one hand.
So, here we are, it’s January 2024, and I've decided to start something all new. It’s both a culmination of many things I’ve explored before and one idea I’ve been sitting on. And while I’m not entirely sure yet what it will become, my hope is that Marketing Jam will be meaningful and grow into a vibrant community.
That is why I've decided to do more of my own writing (please be patient as I build my editorial muscles) and to focus on the things that move me personally. No more top 10 style posts, regurgitation of other people’s thoughts, or trendy blog formats. I want to inspire others and communicate my point of view as a marketer, entrepreneur, and consumer. And I’ll be going all in on the power of purpose — both harnessing mine and igniting yours — so, if you're a founder in need of some marketing swagger (or zwagger as I like to call it), welcome to my new and improved blog - marketing jam.
All of my original blog content will also be published in some form on my website and LinkedIn, but I have plans to add a podcast, live AMA’s, and other community driven features here on Substack—I hope you will join me inside the platform and provide input as things evolve.
I can’t wait to see how this story continues to unfold!
